LINE-NESS
from a single touch of a dot
one hears the sound of a birthing line
the sound is white,
stunning,
steady,
and strong
others come to life and there’s a song
with rhythm and rhyme
line-ness
becomes
During Covid in 2021 I entered an era of drawing straight lines with a ruler and superfine fountain pen. Drawing lines and witnessing how they appeared on the surface of the paper so neat, straight and aligned, all together created a zen mood and peaceful manner overtime. As if mixing meditation with grains of creativity—as paradoxical as it may sound.
After a while and more than a hundred of drawings I began imagining the forms beyond their two dimensional space. Lines moved and expanded before my eyes. Only in search of a vanishing point to reveal their hidden talents and potentials. The synthesis of this imaginative journey was a three dimensional interpretation. LINE-NESS became a project showcasing my drawings as well as their sculptural representation.

The small snippet which is used to accompany LINE-NESS are original space audio recordings provided by NASA and the Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Iowa.
